The Winter Guard team competed against 10 other units including Chase HS, Smoky Mountain HS, Landrum HS, Westside HS, Lugoff‐Elgin Genesis, East Henderson Winter Guard, T.L. Hanna HS, Byrnes HS, Asheville HS, and Dobyns‐Bennett HS Junior Varsity.
"This was a phenomenal end to the season. We worked extremely hard; I am nothing but proud of the kids for the many hours of practice they put into being real competitors. Our first ever Winter Guard Competition season was a success thanks to them. Hopefully we will be able to continue this extracurricular activity for years to come, allowing the students at Chilhowie High a new outlet for both expression and creativity" said instructor Theo Ganaway.
The CHS Color Guard will begin preparing for the 2015 fall marching band season now that the Winter Guard season has concluded. Tryouts for color guard will be April 13th - 17th, 2015. No previous experience is required.
“We encourage current 8th graders and all high school students to come see what color guard is all about. We put in a lot of hard work but, have a lot of fun too!”
